During the period 1931-1955 the church
continued to grow, by 1955 there were
141 members in the church at Cave Hill.
This growth was made possible through
the help of the Lord and the dedication and
hardwork of local men such as Garnett Bowen,
Harold Burgess, Julian Johnson and Fitz Willoughby.
These men were the Home Missionary leader,
the Treasurer, the Church Leader and the Choir master
respectively. The women were not to be left out.
There was Sis. Eugene Whitehead who was the
Missionary Volunteer (M.V.) Leader and the
Sabbath School Superintendent.
As during the earlier period the task of getting to
and from church was by foot. Persons would come
from as far as Alexandria walking across Lamberts Hill
and through the gully to the church. The point that was
emphatically made by persons who were members during
that period was that the members were always punctual.
