Since the church was growing, the house in Connell Town
became too small thereby necessitating larger quarters.
The Sabbath-Keepers rented a lodge-room/house at
Durhams St. Lucy and in 1924 with twenty members,
the church was formally organised by Pastors I.V. Minner
and Charles B. Sutton. Attending the church at the time
were the Bowens, Burgesses, the Hings, Kellmans, and
the Johnsons. In the same year the members moved to
the Risk due to a lack of space.
At the Risk the worshippers met in the downstairs section
of a two-storey house. To attend these services persons
had to walk from as far as Connell Town, the Whim and
St. Andrew. One of the members at the time who came from
Alexandria stated that if the rain fell, they had to take off
their shoes and drag their feet to cross Collins gully.
